Wintering by Katherine May
A Winter Book Club Soulful Gathering

I invite you to join the Winter Book Club Soulful Gathering.

We give ourselves permission to read slowly, allowing time for digestion and reflection. We will read a few chapters for each gathering.

This will be an opportunity for you to share your experiences and learnings, and experience an alchemy and healing power that emerges in soulful community.

What is Wintering?

Sometimes you slip through the cracks: unforeseen circumstances like an abrupt illness, the death of a loved one, a break up, or a job loss can derail a life. These periods of dislocation can be lonely and unexpected. For May, her husband fell ill, her son stopped attending school, and her own medical issues led her to leave a demanding job. Wintering explores how she not only endured this painful time, but embraced the singular opportunities it offered.

A moving personal narrative shot through with lessons from literature, mythology, and the natural world, May's story offers instruction on the transformative power of rest and retreat. Illumination emerges from many sources: solstice celebrations and dormice hibernation, C.S. Lewis and Sylvia Plath, swimming in icy waters and sailing arctic seas.

Ultimately Wintering invites us to change how we relate to our own fallow times. May models an active acceptance of sadness and finds nourishment in deep retreat, joy in the hushed beauty of winter, and encouragement in understanding life as cyclical, not linear. A secular mystic, May forms a guiding philosophy for transforming the hardships that arise before the ushering in of a new season.

Truly Human Notice

I know that the price of coaching and self-care in general can be inaccessible to those who need it most.  I consciously balance the need to take care of myself (what I charge) with what I can give away to those in my community (who can benefit and do not have the financial means).

For these gatherings, I offer a variable pricing model. You choose.

1. Recommended $12 donation

2. If you have a financial hardship, pay only $1

3. Want to support JentillHuman with an extra, pay $25

Please know that I am grateful for each client who can pay the full rate, as then I am better able to reserve capacity for those who cannot.

If you or someone you know would benefit from Holistic Coaching and / or these Gatherings, please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss options.

What others are Saying?

"The sessions were a catalyst for real change in my life, with results that are undeniable. Jen’s guidance and perception are instrumental in providing the focus and clarity to define what my intentions are, to set them, and move towards them. The speed at which they begin to come to me are nothing less than astonishing. Working with Jen has been one of the best things I’ve done for myself and I recommend working with her completely."  (~Steph)
