About the event

Spring is here, and it contains the energy of the Wood element, which brings forth new growth, an emerging life force found within all living things, a life force energy that pushes the new grass upward through the earth, a mysterious energy that stretches new branches from the center stalk.  Like the plant collecting nourishment from the sun above and the soil below, we too must nourish ourselves from above and below, connecting to our Higher Self (universe, god, mystery of life) with a curious and open heart and fortifying our foundation (our values, strengths, earned wisdom over our lifetime) with nutrients that will prepare our life to take on our next shape.

To nourish our growth this April, I invite you to read (or listen to) Rooted by Lyanda Lynn Haupt.  "In Rooted, cutting-edge science supports a truth that poets, artists, mystics, and earth-based cultures across the world have proclaimed over millennia: life on this planet is radically interconnected.  Our bodies, thoughts, minds, and spirits are affected by the whole of nature, and they affect the whole in return.  Lyanda invites rootedness as a way of being in concert with wilderness - and wildness - that sustains humans and all of life."
